Friedman: Larkin may consider about eight trade destinations
The Sportsnet insider named Colorado and Washington among possible destinations for the Red Wings forward, while stressing that the full list is uncertain.
Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman said Friday that Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin could approve a trade to more clubs than had been publicly identified.
Speaking on *32 Thoughts: The Podcast*, Friedman estimated the number at about eight. He named Colorado and Washington, and said Dallas and Tampa Bay might also be on Larkin’s list. Friedman described the latter two as his suspicion; neither he nor the Red Wings provided a confirmed list of eight teams.
Earlier reports identified Minnesota, Vegas and Florida as destinations Larkin would accept. His full no-movement clause gives him the right to approve any deal.
Larkin, 30, requested a trade after Detroit missed the playoffs for a 10th consecutive season. The Red Wings announced before training camp that they would begin the season without a captain. He has five seasons remaining on a contract with an $8.7 million annual cap hit.
