Alex Bump is returning to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms after Philadelphia loaned the winger to its AHL affiliate on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The Flyers confirmed the move through their official account.

The 22-year-old has gone without a point in three NHL appearances this season. His next opportunity comes with the Phantoms, where he recorded 11 goals and 26 points in 36 games in 2025-26.

Bump also contributed five goals and nine points across 17 regular-season games with Philadelphia last season. He scored twice in six Stanley Cup Playoff appearances.

The loan comes one day after the Flyers signed Michael Bunting to a one-year, $1.2-million contract. Bunting's arrival adds a veteran option to Philadelphia's forward group while Bump returns to the club's AHL affiliate.
