Fleet sign first-round pick Grace Dwyer through 2028-29
Boston locks up the Cornell defender, 10th overall in June's draft, on a three-year deal.

The Boston Fleet have signed defender Grace Dwyer, their first-round pick in the 2026 PWHL Draft, to a three-year Standard Player Agreement that runs through the 2028-29 season. The team announced the deal Wednesday.
Boston took Dwyer 10th overall on June 17. She was one of five players and three defenders the Fleet selected, and she is the second from that class to sign ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The 22-year-old from Wynnewood, Pa., comes out of a four-year career at Cornell, where she played 134 games and put up 76 points (18 goals, 58 assists) from the back end. As captain in her senior season, she had 20 points (six goals, 14 assists) in 33 games. She was named First Team All-Ivy and ECAC Hockey Third Team, and Cornell ranked 12th in the NCAA in scoring defence. Internationally, she won silver with the United States at the 2022 IIHF U18 Women's World Championship.
"As a physical, puck moving defender, Grace is a tremendous addition to our defensive core," Fleet general manager Danielle Marmer said, adding that Dwyer has "the opportunity to develop alongside Megan Keller and Haley Winn for years to come here in Boston."
Keller is the reigning PWHL Defender of the Year and Winn the reigning Rookie of the Year. The Fleet now have 19 players under contract for the coming season, a group that also includes defenders Amanda Boulier, Rylind MacKinnon and third-round pick Leah Stecker. Dwyer, Stecker and Winn are the only three Fleet players signed through 2028-29.
"I am super excited to play in Boston," Dwyer said. "It has a rich sports tradition and the Fleet team and coaches are top notch."
