Flames recall Jonathan Castagna and Aydar Suniev from Wranglers
Calgary brings up two forwards after sending Connor Zary and Brayden Pachal to its AHL affiliate a day earlier.
Calgary brought forwards Jonathan Castagna and Aydar Suniev up from the Calgary Wranglers on Wednesday, Oct. 7, the Flames announced. Both had appeared in two AHL games this season.
Castagna, 21, scored twice across those first two professional games. Sportsnet reported that the Toronto-born forward could now be in line for his NHL debut, although Calgary has not confirmed its next lineup.
Suniev has played seven NHL games and recorded one assist. Calgary selected him in the third round of the 2023 draft.
The recalls come a day after the Flames sent Connor Zary and Brayden Pachal to the Wranglers, a move the club announced Tuesday.
Calgary next faces Colorado on Thursday. Sportsnet lists the start time as 7 p.m. MT, or 9 p.m. ET.
