Flames Bring Back 2004 Jerseys for Final Saddledome Season
Calgary will wear its black-C throwbacks in four home games against the teams it beat, and lost to, during the 2004 Cup run.
The Calgary Flames are bringing back the 2004 jerseys for 2026-27, announcing the special alternate during the first intermission of Tuesday's pre-season game against Vancouver.
The look needs no introduction in Calgary: the black C on the chest, the "Blasty" alternate logo on the shoulders. The Flames wore it from 2003 to 2007, and it is the sweater they were wearing when they pushed to Game 7 of the 2004 Stanley Cup Final before losing to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The scheduling is the clever part. Calgary will wear the throwbacks in four home games, each against a team it met during that 2004 playoff run: Saturday, Oct. 24 against Detroit, Saturday, Dec. 26 against Vancouver, Tuesday, Dec. 29 against San Jose, and Saturday, Jan. 9 against Tampa Bay.
The club also laid out the rest of its jersey plan for all 42 home dates. The traditional home sweaters get 29 games, with nine more set aside for a hometown remix uniform that has not been unveiled yet.
All of it lands in the building's last year. Calgary opens its final season at Scotiabank Saddledome on Oct. 1 against the Seattle Kraken and, barring a playoff run, closes out 43 years in the arena on April 10 against the Canucks. The Flames move across the street to Scotia Place for 2027-28.
