ESPN: Wild GM Bill Guerin Signs Multi-Year Extension
ESPN reports Minnesota has extended the reigning NHL General Manager of the Year; the club has not announced contract terms.
Minnesota Wild general manager Bill Guerin has signed a multi-year contract extension, according to an ESPN report Tuesday citing sources. The team has not announced the deal or disclosed its terms.
Guerin has led Minnesota’s front office since 2019. The Wild extended head coach John Hynes before training camp, keeping both leaders in place as they prepare for the 2026-27 season.
The NHL named Guerin the 2025-26 Jim Gregory General Manager of the Year. During that season, he signed Kirill Kaprizov to an eight-year, $136 million contract and acquired defenseman Quinn Hughes in a major trade. Guerin also served as general manager of the United States men’s team that won Olympic gold in February 2026.
ESPN first reported the new extension. Minnesota has not confirmed its length or financial details.
