Eddie Olczyk returns to Blackhawks as team ambassador
The Chicago native rejoins the organization and will work select CHSN broadcasts as a studio analyst, starting tonight against Carolina.
Eddie Olczyk is back with the Chicago Blackhawks. The club announced Saturday that the Palos Heights, Ill., native has rejoined the organization as a Blackhawks Ambassador.
The role has Olczyk connecting the franchise's past with its present and helping grow the game across Chicagoland. He will take part in gameday experiences at the United Center, season ticket member and corporate partner events, Chicago Blackhawks Foundation and community initiatives, and team content through the season.
Olczyk will also join select Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) broadcasts as a studio analyst. The 2026-27 slate starts tonight against the Hurricanes. It includes all four Saturday home games this fall: Oct. 10 vs. Carolina, Oct. 17 vs. Dallas, Nov. 14 vs. Winnipeg and Dec. 12 vs. Utah. More 2027 dates will be announced later. He will continue his national work, including his role with TNT Sports.
"Eddie Olczyk is part of the fabric of this franchise and this city," said Blackhawks President of Business Operations Jaime Faulkner. "We're thrilled to welcome Eddie home as a Blackhawks Ambassador, and we know our fans will be just as excited to see him back where he belongs."
"Chicago is my home, the Blackhawks are my team, and my family and I are thrilled to be back with our fans," Olczyk said.
Chicago took Olczyk third overall in the 1984 NHL Draft after he played for the United States at the Sarajevo Olympics. He played 16 NHL seasons, won the Stanley Cup with the Rangers in 1994, and logged 209 points in 322 games across two stints with the Blackhawks. He was the club's television analyst from 2006 to 2022, a stretch that included the 2010, 2013 and 2015 Cup wins, and was inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012.
