Ducks sign Tristan Luneau to six-year extension
Anaheim confirms a deal through 2032-33; Friedman reports a $43.2 million value.
The Anaheim Ducks signed defenceman Tristan Luneau to a six-year extension on Thursday, Oct. 1. The club said the deal begins in 2027-28 and runs through 2032-33.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported that the contract is worth $43.2 million, an average of $7.2 million a season. Anaheim's announcement did not disclose financial terms.
Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek said signing Luneau long term was a priority because the team sees him developing into a top-four defenceman. Verbeek said completing the agreement before the season was part of the club's planning.
Luneau, 22, has two goals and two assists in 14 NHL games. He played seven games in 2023-24, six in 2024-25 and one last season, scoring against Nashville on April 16 in 11:37 of ice time.
He spent most of 2025-26 with the AHL's San Diego Gulls, recording 10 goals and 31 assists in 70 games. Anaheim selected the Victoriaville, Que., native 53rd overall in the 2022 draft.
