Cutter Gauthier is set to return to the Anaheim Ducks’ lineup against the Boston Bruins on Friday and play centre for the first time in his NHL career, according to NHL.com’s game preview.

Gauthier missed Tuesday’s 4-2 loss to the Calgary Flames because of an upper-body injury. His return gives Anaheim another option down the middle while the club is without Mikael Granlund, who remains day to day with an upper-body injury.

The Ducks host Boston before starting a four-game road trip at the New York Rangers on Monday. NHL.com reported that Granlund will travel with the team.
