The Washington Capitals will travel to Raleigh without Pierre-Luc Dubois and Matt Roy for Tuesday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes, the club reported after Monday’s practice.

Dubois missed Sunday’s game against Seattle because of illness and was absent from practice Monday. Roy will also stay behind; he has been out since the second period of Washington’s Oct. 3 game in Tampa.

Alex Tuch took a maintenance day Monday but is expected to travel with the team. Ethen Frank and Ivan Miroshnichenko both participated fully in practice and worked with the second power-play unit. Frank had entered the lineup Sunday in Dubois’ absence.

The Capitals face Carolina on Tuesday, Oct. 13, before returning home to play Montreal on Wednesday. Washington’s report described the Montreal game as the start of a five-game homestand spread over 15 days.

Coach Spencer Carbery said Washington would need to respond to Carolina’s pressure by breaking out and creating attacking chances, as it did in its season-opening visit to Raleigh.
