Devils Set Sunday Preseason Opener Against Islanders
New Jersey starts its four-game exhibition schedule at Prudential Center, with Amadeus Lombardi and Anton Silaev among the players to watch.
The New Jersey Devils begin their four-game preseason schedule against the New York Islanders at Prudential Center on Sunday, Sept. 20. The team’s game preview lists puck drop at 1:08 p.m. ET.
New Jersey’s announced lineup includes forwards Connor Brown, Cody Glass and Amadeus Lombardi. Lombardi scored twice in an intrasquad scrimmage Friday, according to the Devils. Lenni Hameenaho, Shane Lachance, Matyas Melovsky and Cam Squires are also among the forwards expected to play.
On defense, veteran Brenden Dillon joins a group that includes prospects Anton Silaev and Seamus Casey. David Rittich and Jakub Malek are listed as the goaltenders. The club’s preview identified Lombardi and Silaev among its players to watch as they compete for roles.
The Devils play the Rangers at home Monday, visit the Rangers on Thursday and close the preseason against the Islanders on Long Island on Saturday, according to the club’s schedule.
