Devils Reunite Dillon and Chisholm During Split Camp Session
New Jersey paired the veteran defensemen as the club divided its roster for two practices following back-to-back preseason games.
The New Jersey Devils reunited defensemen Brenden Dillon and Declan Chisholm during a split training-camp practice Tuesday, according to the club’s official notebook.
Dillon also discussed approaching the season as a fresh start while competition continued across the lineup. New Jersey held two sessions after playing preseason games on consecutive nights.
The early group was made up mostly of younger players. The forwards listed by the club were Tufte, White, McLaughlin, Schmelzer, Melovsky, Parent, Lachance, Steeves, Squires, Hameenaho, Klassen and Pearson.
The blue line in that session consisted of Leddy, Silaev, Diotte, Morin, Vilen, Powell, Kolyachonok and Hanzel. The split format gave the coaching staff another look at roster competition while Dillon and Chisholm resumed work together.
