DeBrusk scores late as Canucks rally past Kraken 4-3 in preseason finale
Vancouver erased a two-goal deficit, then scored twice in the third period to finish its exhibition schedule with a win.
Jake DeBrusk scored with 1:38 left in the third period as the Vancouver Canucks beat the Seattle Kraken 4-3 at Rogers Arena on Saturday in their preseason finale. The NHL's official scoring summary lists Brock Boeser and Elias Pettersson as the assists on DeBrusk's even-strength winner.
Seattle led 2-0 in the first period before Boeser scored on a power play. Pettersson tied the game early in the second, but the Kraken regained the lead 1:29 into the third. Zeev Buium brought Vancouver level on a power play at 11:05, setting up DeBrusk's late goal.
The victory left the Canucks 1-3 in preseason play, Sportsnet reported. Vancouver coach Manny Malhotra said, "I think the guys have really picked up on the concepts," and credited the team's improved defensive work and breakouts during the game.
