Connor extends opening-night goal record to nine seasons
A second-period power-play goal against Boston kept the Winnipeg winger’s record streak going.
Kyle Connor has scored in Winnipeg’s season opener for a ninth year in a row, extending the NHL record he already held. His latest opening-night goal came Friday against the Boston Bruins at Canada Life Centre.
Connor converted with Winnipeg on the power play at 1:50 of the second period, bringing the Jets level at 2-2. Gabe Vilardi and Cole Perfetti were credited with assists. The streak began in the 2018-19 season; Connor entered this opener with goals in eight consecutive season-opening games.
Connor finished 2025-26 with 39 goals and 92 points while appearing in all 82 games. Eight of his first 10 NHL seasons ended with at least 30 goals.
