Capitals Return to Hershey for Preseason Game Against Flyers

The Washington Capitals host the Philadelphia Flyers at Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, at 7 p.m. ET Monday, completing a preseason back-to-back one night after a 3-2 shootout loss to the Bruins in Boston.

It is the second consecutive September in which Washington and Philadelphia have played an exhibition game at Giant Center. The Capitals won last year's meeting 5-1 on Sept. 25, 2025, before a crowd of 10,420, according to the Hershey Bears.

Washington dressed about half of its projected top 12 forwards and four of its likely top six defensemen Sunday in Boston. The club's pregame report said most of the remaining regulars were expected to dress against Philadelphia. The Capitals generated 16 of their 32 shots during power plays in the opener but scored both goals four seconds after an advantage expired.

Monday is Philadelphia's preseason opener and the first half of a back-to-back. The Flyers visit Boston on Tuesday. Washington and Philadelphia will meet again Saturday at Xfinity Mobile Arena to close both teams' exhibition schedules.
