Capitals Place Ludwig Persson On Waivers For Hershey Assignment

The 22-year-old forward, a 2022 third-round pick, could be assigned to AHL Hershey if he clears.

Washington placed forward Ludwig Persson on waivers Tuesday for the purpose of assigning him to the AHL's Hershey Bears, according to CBS Sports.

Persson, 22, had nine goals and 23 points in 41 regular-season games with the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays in 2025-26, according to the team's statistics.

Washington selected him 85th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft. He must clear waivers before the club can complete the planned Hershey assignment.
