Vancouver will face Calgary without Jake DeBrusk on Saturday, Oct. 3. Coach Manny Malhotra said the winger is ill, Sportsnet reported.
The Canucks had not identified a replacement in the report. The game begins at Rogers Arena at 7 p.m. Pacific, with Vancouver entering 1-1-0 and Calgary seeking its first win after Thursday's 6-1 loss to Seattle.
DeBrusk recorded one assist across Vancouver's first two games, according to Sportsnet. He was the extra forward during Friday's practice, but Malhotra cautioned against drawing conclusions from the line combinations, the Flames' official preview reported.
