Vancouver Canucks forward Filip Chytil left Thursday's preseason game against the Edmonton Oilers after colliding with an official in the first period. He went shoulder-first into the boards, was visibly in discomfort and later headed to the locker room.
Chytil did not return for the second period. The Canucks subsequently ruled him out for the remainder of the game. The club had not announced a diagnosis in the report available after the incident.
The 27-year-old has played 78 of a possible 246 regular-season games over the past three seasons. Concussions and upper-body injuries have interrupted that stretch. In his last mostly healthy season, 2022-23 with the New York Rangers, he recorded 22 goals and 23 assists for 45 points in 74 games.
