Canadiens assign 10 players to Laval after preseason finale

Montreal also placed nine more players on waivers as it prepares to open the season in Toronto.

The Montreal Canadiens assigned 10 players to the Laval Rocket on Sunday after completing their preseason schedule, the club announced. The group consists of Owen Beck, Dillan Bentley, Laurent Dauphin, Jared Davidson, Jacob Fowler, Filip Mesar, Luke Mittelstadt, Owen Protz, David Reinbacher and Tyler Thorpe.

Montreal separately placed Alex Belzile, Brett Berard, Kaapo Kahkonen, Hunter McKown, Sasha Pastujov, Samuel Poulin, Ethan Samson, Maksymilian Szuber and Reilly Walsh on waivers for possible loans to Laval. The Canadiens open their regular season Tuesday in Toronto.
