Bruins scratch Zadorov against Kings; Zacha out with upper-body injury
Marco Sturm leaves Nikita Zadorov out of Boston’s lineup, while Jonathan Aspirot returns and Sean Kuraly replaces Pavel Zacha.
Nikita Zadorov will be a healthy scratch for the Boston Bruins against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, Oct. 17. Coach Marco Sturm said the decision was his and pointed to the defenceman’s discipline on the ice.
Sturm said Zadorov was unhappy about being left out, but praised his leadership and said he expected a positive response. Jonathan Aspirot will take a place on defence for his first appearance since Oct. 3, according to the Bruins’ official preview.
Boston will also be without Pavel Zacha, who has an upper-body injury and is day to day. Sean Kuraly will enter the lineup in his absence. Boston Hockey Now also reported Zacha’s absence and Zadorov’s scratch after Sturm’s pregame update.
Jeremy Swayman will start in goal for Boston. The Bruins face the Kings at Crypto.com Arena at 9 p.m. ET, one night after their 4-2 win in Anaheim extended their winning streak to four games.
