Bruins Lock Up Fraser Minten With Seven Year, $50.4M Deal
Boston commits long term to the 22-year-old center after his first full NHL season.
The Boston Bruins have signed forward Fraser Minten to a seven-year, $50.4 million extension, an average of $7.2 million per season.
Minten, 22, put up 17 goals and 18 assists in his first full NHL season and was fifth on the Bruins with 142 hits. He led all NHL rookies in plus-minus at plus-21, worked mostly as the third-line center and drew occasional second power-play time.
He came to Boston from Toronto in the Brandon Carlo trade in March 2025.
"Since joining our organization, Fraser has continued to grow and earn the accelerated trust of his teammates and coaching staff," general manager Don Sweeney said in a statement. "His hockey sense, competitiveness, responsible two-way game, and offensive growth make him a valuable player for our group. This is a mutual long-term commitment that reflects our confidence in Fraser and the important role he will play, as well as Fraser's belief in our team moving forward."
The timing matters on term. Eight-year contracts can be signed through Sept. 15; as of Sept. 16, the maximum for a player re-signing while under contract with his own team drops to seven years, and six for players signing with a new club, under the new CBA.
