Alexey Toropchenko left the St. Louis Blues' season opener in Dallas early in the second period Friday after two hits behind the Blues' net, according to an Associated Press report carried by Sportsnet.

Stars defenceman Lian Bichsel checked Toropchenko before Tyler Seguin made contact from the side. The Blues forward fell and held his upper right arm.

After receiving attention on the ice, Toropchenko skated off while supporting his arm and headed to the dressing room with roughly 16:30 remaining in the period. The report described an apparent shoulder injury.
