Blues claim Barron, Devils claim Poirier amid waiver rush

The two clubs confirmed their Sunday claims; Sportsnet reported 71 players placed on waivers leaguewide.

St. Louis claimed defenceman Justin Barron from Nashville on Sunday, and New Jersey added goaltender Rémi Poirier from Dallas. Each receiving club confirmed its claim in a roster update.

The Blues said Barron recorded nine assists in 52 games for the Predators in 2025-26. New Jersey's update also listed six of its own players on waivers, including goaltender David Rittich.

Sportsnet reported that 71 players leaguewide were placed on waivers Sunday as teams prepared to finalize their rosters.
