Blues Bring NHL Regulars To Dallas For Monday Preseason Game
Robert Thomas, Dylan Holloway and new forward Mason McTavish headline the travel roster for St. Louis in the second of four exhibition games.
The Blues head to Dallas on Monday for a 7 p.m. preseason game against the Stars, and this time the lineup will look a lot more like the real thing.
Saturday's opener against Dallas leaned heavily on prospects. Monday's travel group includes Robert Thomas, Dylan Holloway, Jimmy Snuggerud, Philip Broberg, Logan Mailloux and goaltender Joel Hofer. It also marks the preseason debut of Mason McTavish, acquired from Anaheim this offseason.
Head coach Jim Montgomery has said the top power-play unit will get work in this one. Based on practice, that group is expected to be Thomas, Holloway, Snuggerud, McTavish and Broberg.
The rest of the forward group traveling to American Airlines Center: Jonatan Berggren, Zach Dean, Dillon Dube, Aleksanteri Kaskimaki, Dylan Peterson, Otto Stenberg, Oskar Sundqvist and Nathan Walker. On defense, Quinton Burns, Adam Jiricek, Arseni Koromyslov and Colin Ralph join Broberg and Mailloux.
It is the second of four preseason games for St. Louis. Every club is working with the same compressed runway this fall: the exhibition schedule has been trimmed to four games while the regular season expands to 84, leaving coaches very little live-game evidence before roster decisions come due.
