The Columbus Blue Jackets will hold Military Appreciation Night on Thursday, Nov. 12, when the Tampa Bay Lightning visit Nationwide Arena. The club announced a 7 p.m. start.

Elk + Elk is presenting the event, which will recognise active-duty service members, veterans and their families. Fans will be able to help put together 350 care packages for USO Ohio on the main concourse, with support from Kroger.

Army Staff Sgt. Damon Bass will be the evening’s military honouree. Staff Sgt. Zachariah Collett will serve as Cannoneer, while Staff Sgt. Kenneth Bettinger of the 122nd Army Band will perform the national anthem. Westerville VFW Post 7883 will provide the colour guard.

The team is also offering a ticket package with a military-themed wearable while supplies last. A regular game ticket does not include the wearable; fans need the specific package.
