Ben Kindel Exits Penguins Preseason Game With Lower-Body Injury

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Ben Kindel left Monday’s preseason game against the Buffalo Sabres with a lower-body injury and did not return for the second period, the team announced.

Kindel was making his preseason debut after completing his first NHL season. The 19-year-old played 77 regular-season games as a rookie in 2025-26, recording 17 goals and 18 assists for 35 points.

The Coquitlam, British Columbia, native tied for eighth in rookie scoring. He and New York Islanders defenseman Matthew Schaefer were the only 18-year-olds to finish among the top 10.
