Avalanche reassign Saige Weinstein to Eagles camp

Colorado sent the 21-year-old defenceman to its AHL affiliate while reducing its NHL training-camp roster to 38 players.

The Colorado Avalanche reassigned defenceman Saige Weinstein to the Colorado Eagles’ American Hockey League training camp on Thursday, the NHL club announced. The transaction reduced Colorado's NHL camp roster to 38 players.

Weinstein, 21, has not participated in team skates since camp opened because of a lower-body injury, according to Colorado Hockey Now. The assignment sends him to the Eagles, where he played three AHL games last season.
