Avalanche Cut 11 Players, Camp Roster Down to 45
Colorado assigned five players to Eagles camp and six to junior clubs ahead of its preseason opener.
The Colorado Avalanche reduced their training-camp roster by 11 players Saturday, leaving 45, according to the club’s roster update. Five players were assigned to the Colorado Eagles’ AHL camp and six to junior teams.
The Eagles camp assignments are defenseman Hank Kempf, centres Jayson Megna and Jake Wise, goaltender Nikita Novosyolov and left wing Yanick Turcotte. These are camp assignments, not announcements of Colorado’s final regular-season roster.
The junior assignments are left wing Shawn Carrier to Halifax in the QMJHL; defenseman Linus Funck to Oshawa in the OHL; defenseman Teddy Lechner to Muskegon in the USHL; goaltender Alexandre Raymond to Rouyn-Noranda in the QMJHL; defenseman Ondrej Ruml to Ottawa in the OHL; and goaltender Tobias Tvrznik to Wenatchee in the WHL.
Colorado’s first preseason game is scheduled for Sunday against the Utah Mammoth at Ball Arena, according to the team’s camp schedule.
