What's newJared Bednar expects Zachary L'Heureux to make his Avalanche debut Wednesday in Winnipeg.

Zachary L'Heureux is expected to make his Colorado Avalanche debut against the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Coach Jared Bednar outlined that plan on Altitude Sports Radio, Colorado Hockey Now reported.

The 23-year-old forward missed Colorado's first two regular-season games with a lower-body injury suffered during the preseason. His return would follow Tuesday's full practice, his second complete team skate.

Logan O'Connor also took part in the full practice after missing the start of the season with a lower-body injury. Bednar had said Tuesday he expected both forwards to play in Winnipeg or Calgary on Thursday, Oct. 8; O'Connor's availability for Wednesday remains unconfirmed.

Bednar plans to switch from seven defencemen to a lineup of 12 forwards and six defencemen when an injured forward returns. L'Heureux and O'Connor alternated shifts alongside Nic Roy and Parker Kelly during Tuesday's practice, Colorado Hockey Now reported.
