Americans seek first road win as Hammers try to end three-game slide

Rochester and Hamilton meet for the first time this season Friday at TD Coliseum, with both clubs coming off losses.

The Rochester Americans will try to earn their first road win of the season Friday when they visit the Hamilton Hammers, who are looking to end a three-game losing streak. The teams meet at TD Coliseum at 7 p.m. ET in the first of six matchups this season.

Rochester enters with a 2-1-0-1 record and five points after a 2-1 loss at Utica on Oct. 10. The Americans have taken one point on the road so far, from a shootout loss at Belleville. Friday’s game is the second stop on a three-game road trip.

Hamilton is 1-2-0-1 with three points. Since winning their season opener at Belleville, the Hammers have lost three consecutive games against the Toronto Marlies, most recently a 5-2 home defeat on Oct. 11.

The clubs each face Syracuse next: Rochester visits the Crunch on Saturday, Oct. 17, while Hamilton hosts them Sunday, Oct. 18, to complete its four-game homestand.
