The American Hockey League Board of Governors approved changes to Rule 37, which covers video review, and Rule 38, which covers the coach's challenge, for the 2026-27 season, league president and CEO Scott Howson announced.

The AHL is entering the second year of a multi-year partnership with Spiideo. The company's automated camera system provides high-definition, multi-angle views of the entire ice surface in all 32 AHL arenas, along with controls intended to streamline reviews.

AHL video reviews are conducted by the on-ice officials at the scorer's table. The league said Spiideo's video resources are also available to its Player Safety Committee during supplemental-discipline reviews.
