Kalamazoo Wings Continue as Canucks’ ECHL Affiliate in 2026-27
The ECHL club will remain linked to Vancouver and AHL Abbotsford after its previous two-year agreement expired.
The Kalamazoo Wings will remain the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Vancouver Canucks and AHL's Abbotsford Canucks for the 2026-27 season. A Wings spokesperson confirmed the continuation to Abbotsford News earlier this month. The club has also described itself as Vancouver's ECHL affiliate in its player announcements for the coming season.
The current partnership began with a one-year agreement in 2023. In July 2024, Kalamazoo announced a two-year renewal through 2025-26; the latest continuation covers the season after that agreement expired. The organizations previously worked together from 1984 to 1987, 2011 to 2015 and 2017 to 2021.
Kalamazoo is due to play its last season at Wings Event Center before moving to the new Kalamazoo Event Center in 2027. Its home opener is scheduled for Oct. 30.
