Antti Pihlstrom and Janne Niskala staked Finland to an early lead and Niklas Backstrom made 36 saves for the shutout in a 4-0 victory over Sweden on Saturday to take the bronze medal at the IIHF World Hockey Championship.

QUEBEC - Canada and Sweden haven't had a chance to develop much of a rivalry at this year's IIHF World Hockey Championship.
The two teams were separated by 1,000 kilometres for the first two weeks of the tournament and could only find nice things to say about each other after finally skating on the same ice surface here Thursday.

QUEBEC - The no-name Swedes are starting to look familiar at the IIHF World Hockey Championships.
Mattias Weinhandl scored 3:15 into overtime Wednesday to give Sweden a 3-2 victory over the Czech Republic and a berth in the semifinals, where it will face Canada on Friday.
