Steven Stamkos rated top prospect for draft in NHL Central Scouting final rankings

TORONTO - Sarnia Sting centre Steve Stamkos topped Central Scouting's final rankings for the 2008 entry draft, but defencemen dominated the top of the list of North American skaters.

Stamkos, a six-foot, 176-pound forward from Toronto, had 58 goals in 61 games to finish second in Ontario Hockey League.

Duco scores three as Rangers complete sweep of Sting

SARNIA, Ont. - Mike Duco scored three goals and the Kitchener Rangers finished a four-game sweep of the Sarnia Sting with a convincing 6-2 win Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League second-round playoff action.

Rangers take hold of series with 6-2 win over Sting

KITCHENER, Ont. - Matt Halischuk scored two goals and an assist to power the Rangers to a 6-2 victory over the Sarnia Sting, giving Kitchener a commanding 3-0 lead in their Western Conference semifinal.

Mikkel Boedker and Nick Spaling had a goal and three assists apiece, while Justin Azevedo and Matt Pepe each added singles for Kitchener, which went 3-for-8 on the power play.

Mason earns shutout as Rangers blank Sting

KITCHENER, Ont. - Steve Mason came out on the winning end of a goaltending duel with Andrew Perugini and the Kitchener Rangers beat the Sarnia Sting 3-0 in Ontario hockey League playoff action Friday.

Mason made 38 saves as the Rangers took a 1-0 lead in the Western Conference semifinal.
