OTTAWA - Less than two days after the Ottawa Senators were swept out of the playoffs by the Pittsburgh Penguins, general manager Bryan Murray has already begun compiling his off-season to-do list.
Among his priorities are hiring a coach to take over for him behind the bench, finding a new home for goaltender Ray Emery and adding a couple of key players to prevent a repeat of a disastrous season.

OTTAWA - Mike Commodore won a Stanley Cup in Carolina and got to the final with Calgary. What he saw in Ottawa after arriving in a mid-season trade he won't soon forget.
"I got to be honest with you, aside from the year I was in the minors, this was probably my toughest experience as a pro," Commodore said as the Senators cleaned out their lockers Thursday. "Coming into a first-place team that I didn't realize was struggling . . . we just never got it together."

OTTAWA - If John Paddock could have done anything differently during his time as head coach of the Ottawa Senators, he would have changed the way he handled goaltender Ray Emery.
Speaking for the first time since he was fired Wednesday, Paddock expressed his regrets over his dealings with Emery, who ran afoul of team management by arriving late for practice on several occasions and was often accused of not working hard when he did get there on time.

OTTAWA - After a week filled with turmoil, the Ottawa Senators are giving Ray Emery a chance to redeem himself.
The 25-year-old goaltender, who was fined earlier this week after reporting late for practice following the all-star break, will make his first start since the incident when the Senators travel to the Air Canada Centre to face the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday (7 p.m. ET).

The Ottawa Senators have decided to fine Ray Emery for his latest transgression in a season that has included no shortage of negative headlines for the goaltender.
Emery showed up late for Ottawa's practice in Long Island on Monday. It was the second time this season he has been late for a skate. "We're going to fine him," Sens GM Bryan Murray told The Canadian Press on Tuesday.
