GLENDALE, Ariz. - The Phoenix Coyotes signed Kevin Porter, winner of the Hobey Baker Award as the nation's top college hockey player, on Monday.
Porter, 22, completed his senior season at Michigan this year and was second in NCAA Division I in scoring with 33 goals and 33 assists in 43 games. The Wolverines' captain finished his college career with 85 goals and 98 assists.

DALLAS - Phoenix Coyotes rookie Daniel Carcillo has established his credentials as an enforcer with a league-high 324 penalty minutes this season. He's also flashed some ability on the offensive end.
Carcillo had three goals for his first career hat trick, rookie Martin Hanzal notched the tiebreaking goal in the second period, and the Coyotes beat the Dallas Stars 4-2 on Friday night to snap a three-game losing streak.

GLENDALE, Ariz. - Johan Holmqvist made the most of a rare start.
Holmqvist made 21 saves in his second appearance in six weeks and Brenden Morrow added a goal and an assist to lead the Dallas Stars past Phoenix 4-2 Thursday night in the Coyotes' home finale. "I felt pretty good out there," said Holmqvist, who was making his first appearance since March 15. "It's been a while since I played but it didn't really feel like that."

GLENDALE, Ariz. - The Phoenix Coyotes signed top draft pick Kyle Turris to an entry level contract on Monday.
The 18-year-old centre was the third overall selection in the 2007 draft. Earlier this month, he was ranked as the second-best prospect in the NHL by Hockey News magazine.
