OTTAWA - Less than two days after the Ottawa Senators were swept out of the playoffs by the Pittsburgh Penguins, general manager Bryan Murray has already begun compiling his off-season to-do list.
Among his priorities are hiring a coach to take over for him behind the bench, finding a new home for goaltender Ray Emery and adding a couple of key players to prevent a repeat of a disastrous season.

OTTAWA - Mike Commodore won a Stanley Cup in Carolina and got to the final with Calgary. What he saw in Ottawa after arriving in a mid-season trade he won't soon forget.
"I got to be honest with you, aside from the year I was in the minors, this was probably my toughest experience as a pro," Commodore said as the Senators cleaned out their lockers Thursday. "Coming into a first-place team that I didn't realize was struggling . . . we just never got it together."

OTTAWA - Shaking hands with the Ottawa Senators felt vastly different for the Pittsburgh Penguins this time around.
"A little more smiling," said Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. Just 12 months after being handed their lunch in a five-game series that wasn't really close, the Penguins returned the favour and then some this spring, with a 3-1 win Wednesday night capping a four-game sweep that was never in doubt.

OTTAWA - Bryan Murray wears two hats with the Ottawa Senators and while the GM role has been somewhat shelved over the last month to focus on coaching, it will be front and centre Wednesday night in what could be his team's last game of the NHL season.
That's because Murray is keen to see how some of his players will react with their season on the line and that could have a bearing on his off-season decisions. Some of which could be quite significant.
