KITCHENER, Ont. - The Kitchener Rangers proved they're champs, not chokers.

The Memorial Cup-host Rangers finally put Belleville away in the Ontario Hockey League final Monday night before 6,754 at the Aud, beating the Bulls 4-1 to claim the OHL playoff crown in seven games.

KITCHENER, Ont. - The Belleville Bulls beat the Kitchener Rangers 2-1 Thursday night before 6,773 at the Kitchener Auditorium to stay alive in the Ontario Hockey League finals.

The Memorial Cup-host Rangers still lead the best-of-seven series three games to two. But the Bulls, who had trailed 3-0 in the series, can even it up at home at the Yardmen Arena Saturday night at 7:15 ET.

Generals fire Selwood; DePiero new interim GM

OSHAWA, Ont. - A trip to the Eastern Conference final couldn't save Brad Selwood's job as general manager of the Oshawa Generals.

Selwood was fired as GM of the Ontario Hockey League franchise Wednesday, despite taking the Generals to their first conference final appearance since 1999.

Petes not renewing contracts of coach and assistant

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - The Peterborough Petes have decided to make a coaching change.

The Ontario Hockey League team announced Wednesday that it will not renew the contracts of head coach Vince Malette and assistant Darren Keily. The Petes squeaked into the playoffs with a 28-36-1-3 record this season and were eliminated in the first round by the Belleville Bulls.

Rangers beat Bulls, now one win from OHL title

KITCHENER, Ont. - Mike Duco scored twice as the Kitchener Rangers moved within a game of taking the Ontario Hockey League championship with a 5-3 win over the Belleville Bulls on Sunday.
