GREENBURGH, N.Y. - Jaromir Jagr entered his season-ending exit interview not knowing if it would be his last act with the New York Rangers.

Two days after the Rangers were eliminated with an overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round of the playoffs, Jagr stood in front of his stall Tuesday and did his best to explain what the future holds.

Sean Avery released from hospital

NEW YORK - Rangers forward Sean Avery was released from the hospital Sunday morning, five days after suffering a season-ending spleen injury in a playoff game.

Avery was in intensive care at St. Vincent's Medical Center from the time he was admitted Tuesday night, shortly after New York's Game 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, until Saturday because of a lacerated spleen, Rangers spokesman John Rosasco said.

Hossa overtime hero as Penguins eliminate Rangers

PITTSBURGH - So much for the talk a team as young as the Pittsburgh Penguins couldn't advance this far in the playoffs. So much for the speculation Marian Hossa couldn't score big post-season goals.

So much for the New York Rangers, too, whose decided edge in experience meant nothing in a five-game series in which the Penguins' superior talent repeatedly made the difference.
