Johnson scores in OT as Spokane defeats Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - The Lethbridge Hurricanes are on the brink of elimination.

Tyler Johnson scored off a wild scramble 6:20 into overtime to give the Spokane Chiefs a 2-1 victory over the Hurricanes in Game 3 of the WHL championship series on Tuesday. Johnson's goal capped a late rally by the Chiefs, who now lead the series 3-0 and are just one win from advancing to the Memorial Cup. A Chris Bruton goal with just 2:04 to play in the third period knotted the score at 1-1, while Dustin Tokarski made 22 saves to get the win in net.

Rutherford has three points as Chiefs beat Hurricanes in Game 2

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs second line played first-rate hockey on Saturday night at the Spokane Arena.

Bowman scores twice as Chiefs beat Hurricanes in Game 1 of WHL final

SPOKANE, Wash. - Drayson Bowman scored twice as the Spokane Chiefs beat the Lethbridge Hurricanes 4-1 in Game 1 of the Western Hockey League final.

Judd Blackwater and Tyler Johnson added goals for the Chiefs who took an early lead in the series. Adam Chorneyko scored the only goal for Lethbridge. Chiefs' goalie Dustin Tokarski stopped 13 shots for the win while at the other end Juha Metsola made 21 saves.

Lethbridge Hurricanes, Spokane Chiefs set to battle for WHL championship

The Lethbridge Hurricanes are feasting in the playoffs after years of famine.

The Hurricanes open the Western Hockey League championship final on the road Friday against the Spokane Chiefs.

Lethbridge last won a WHL title in 1997 and then didn't win another playoff series again until this year.
