KITCHENER, Ont. - The Kitchener Rangers won Wednesday night's opening of the Ontario Hockey League final 5-2 over Belleville, and that was just the beginning of the damage they inflicted on the Bulls.
Belleville's OHL goalie of the year Mike Murphy got hurt in mid-game, and their No. 5 blue-liner Nick Pageau was also lost to injury. Even the Bulls bench door gave out in the third period and needed repair.

The Ontario Hockey League's championship series won't spell the end of the playoff line for the loser.
Both the Kitchener Rangers and Belleville Bulls will play in the Memorial Cup because Kitchener is already in as the host team of the Canadian Hockey League championship May 16-25.

Kitchener Rangers head coach Pete DeBoer told Justin Azevedo he'd lead the Ontario Hockey League in scoring one day.
DeBoer was prophetic. The 20-year-old centre from West Lorne, Ont., was named the OHL's outstanding player Tuesday after compiling a league-high 124 points in 67 games for the Rangers.

KITCHENER, Ont. - Matt Halischuk scored twice and the Kitchener Rangers advanced to the Ontario Hockey League final with a 5-0 win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Wednesday.
Kitchener won the Western Conference final 4-1. The Rangers will play Belleville in the league final.

The win gives the Rangers a commanding 3-1 series lead, with Game 5 set for Wednesday in Kitchener.
