OSHAWA, Ont. - The Oshawa Generals staved off elimination with a 2-1 win over the Belleville Bulls on Monday in Game 4 of the Ontario Hockey League Eastern Conference final.
Brett Parnham was credited with the winning goal 6:44 into the third period when the puck was inadvertently knocked into the net by Bulls defenceman Shawn Lalonde.
That broke a 1-1 tie and led the Generals to their first win of the series. The Bulls still carry a 3-1 lead into Game 5 in Belleville Wednesday.
Jan Mursak opened the scoring 6:10 into the game for the Bulls during a 5-on-3 power play.
Dale Mitchell tied the game late in the period right after a Generals' power play had ended.
Daryl Borden made 32 saves in goal for Oshawa, while Mike Murphy made 29 stops for Belleville.
The Bulls were 1-for-6 on the power play, while the Generals were 0-for-6.
