Glennie scores first WHL hat trick as Brandon beats Edmonton

BRANDON, Man. - Rookie Scott Glennie scored his first Western Hockey League hat trick to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 4-1 victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Saturday night.

The Wheat Kings scored three times in a span of less than three minutes in the first period, with Glennie notching two of those goals.

Jay Fehr also scored for the Wheat Kings, who improved to 40-24-3-2. Matt Calvert had three assists for Brandon.

Fifteen-year-old midget call-up Mark Pysyk scored his first WHL goal for the Oil Kings, whose record fell to 20-37-4-7.

Brandon netminder Andrew Hayes made 16 saves, while Dalyn Flette stopped four of the seven shots he faced for Edmonton before being replaced by Alex Archibald, who stopped 38 of 39 shots.
