HALIFAX - The United States lost its lead Sunday - and then, it lost its cool.

Mikko Koivu's goal with 3:50 left in regulation capped a wild comeback as Finland rallied for three third-period goals in a 3-2 win over the U.S. at the IIHF World Hockey Championship.

Eberle scores winner as Canada edges Finland in U18 exhibition

MINSK, Belarus - Jordan Eberle scored the overtime winner to give Canada's under-18 men's hockey team a 6-5 exhibition win over Finland on Friday.

"It's a great feeling to put one in for the win," Eberle said. "The more we play together, the more we are gelling as a team and this is great news moving forward to the world championships."

Raimo Helminen sets up last goal in his final game for Finland

TAMPERE, Finland - Raimo Helminen capped his long international career Thursday by assisting on Finland's last goal with four seconds left in a 6-1 win over the Czech Republic in the LG Hockey Games.

After a five-year absence, the 43-year-old Helminen was picked by head coach Doug Shedden as a gesture of honour to finish as a national team player before his home crowd in Tampere.

Former Finnish NHL player Jere Karalahti faces prison sentence in drug case

HELSINKI, Finland - Former NHL player Jere Karalahti has been charged with smuggling amphetamines into the country in a case involving 19 people, including a motorcycle gang.

The Espoo District Court opened the case against Karalahti and other suspects in a local prison for security reasons. If found guilty, Karalahti could face up to six years in prison.
