DALLAS - Stars owner Tom Hicks decided his co-general manager experiment was working. So it's not an experiment anymore.
The team said Thursday that retired NHL great Brett Hull and longtime executive Les Jackson have signed three-year contracts, removing the interim tag they've shared since Hicks made the unusual move in November.

DALLAS - The last time the Dallas Stars got such a late start on summer vacation, Brenden Morrow was a 21-year-old rookie trying to make a name for himself in a locker room filled with seasoned pros. He was such a boy among men that he asked one of his teammates for permission to date his daughter.
Now Morrow is 29, the team captain and Guy Carbonneau's son-in-law. Most importantly, he's just finished a playoff run in which he clearly marked himself as the face of the franchise.

DALLAS - So much for the demise of the Detroit Red Wings. Not only are they headed back to the Stanley Cup final, they're again looking like the club that dominated the regular season and most of the playoffs.
After consecutive losses hinted at vulnerability, the Red Wings bounced back strong in Game 6 of the Western Conference finals, getting first-period goals from Kris Draper, Pavel Datsyuk and Dallas Drake on their way to knocking out the Dallas Stars 4-1 on Monday night.

DALLAS - The Detroit Red Wings aren't really going to blow this - are they?
Just a few days ago, the Red Wings were still in a span of being undefeated for almost a month, owning the NHL's longest post-season winning streak in 15 years and doing it with flair. Three games into the Western Conference final, they hadn't even trailed the Dallas Stars for a single second. All they had to do was win once more to seal a spot in the Stanley Cup final.
