CALGARY - The Calgary Flames filed out the doors of the Pengrowth Saddledome on Friday and some of them for the last time.

CALGARY - For the third year in a row, more was expected of the Calgary Flames.

But the veteran team with a veteran coach exited in the first round of NHL playoffs again. The Flames stretched their series against the favoured San Jose Sharks to a full seven games and played some of their best hockey of the season in it.

CALGARY - The streets of Calgary were cold and quiet Tuesday night as the Flames were handily defeated in the deciding game seven of their first NHL playoff round series against the San Jose Sharks.

Calgary's famous 17th Avenue, dubbed "the Red Mile" back in the successful spring of 2004, had almost more police officers present than fans.
