By only allowing a pair of goals in the first two games against Dallas last week, Osgood has helped Detroit to continue their dominance in the 2008 playoffs. Mr. Reliable has yet to lose a game in this current post-season.

Brett Hull a slam-dunk for Hall of Fame

By: Pollard 139 days 17 hours 55 minutes ago.

View Video of the Week.

Brett Hull might want to start looking for a flashy new suit.

Subtlety has never been Hull's style. On or off the ice.

But whatever duds he settles on, the little guy with the big mouth and bigger shot, will definitely need something to wear at the Hockey Hall of Fame induction ceremony in a couple years time.

Heck, he might as well book a flight and hotel room while he's at it.

He's a lock to get in. You can bet the ranch on it, buckaroo.

Don't believe me?

Well, check out this video of some of his career highlights and tell me you're not watching one of the best pure goal scorers in NHL history.

Go ahead, try to convince me.

You'd be wasting your breath.

Hull, now the interim co-general manager of the Dallas Stars, was one of the best snipers I have ever seen.

He scored 741 goals for Pete's sake. In the history of the NHL, only a couple guys named Gretzky and Howe scored more times. You might have heard of them.

Over the course of three seasons early in his NHL career, Hull had 228 goals. That's an average of 76. (Yes, I used a calculator.)

Do you know how many players have passed through the NHL without scoring 76 goals in their career?

Eight times he scored at least 40, including a career high of 86 in 1990-91. And he just missed the magic number two other times.

All told, Hull finished with 1391 points, 20th all-time.

Any way I slice it, Hull comes up a Hall of Famer.

And yet there are still critics out there who think Hull is undeserving of a place in hockey's hallowed shrine. Some believe he was too brash, too opinionated, to be inducted into the Hall.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, those people should be tied to a net to face the full fury of a Brett Hull slapshot.

It would probably go a long way towards changing their minds.
