Reports indicate former San Jose Sharks coach Ron Wilson has been offered the head coaching job for the Toronto Maple Leafs and is on his way to Toronto to meet with Leaf officials.

Wilson was fired as head coach of the San Jose Sharks after they were eliminated in the Western Conference semi final by the Dallas Stars.

As Mats Sundin cuddles with fiancée Josephine  Johansson and watches the Detroit Red Wings try to end the hockey season with yet another Stanley Cup championship tonight, he'll be getting a sense of how the other half lives.

Following yet another lost season at the helm in the city that Stanley forgot, Sundin must be giving some serious thought to cutting his losses in Toronto and relocating to a city where hockey can actually be fun again.

In a move that caught most hockey observers off-guard simply because of the timing, the Toronto Maple Leafs have fired head coach Paul Maurice

The Leafs, who are also in the hunt for a general manager to replace interim GM Cliff Fletcher, relieved Maurice of his duties this morning.
