Reports indicate former San Jose Sharks coach Ron Wilson has been offered the head coaching job for the Toronto Maple Leafs and is on his way to Toronto to meet with Leaf officials.
Wilson was fired as head coach of the San Jose Sharks after they were eliminated in the Western Conference semi final by the Dallas Stars.

Over the past few weeks in the NHL, coaches have been coming and going left and right.A couple of weeks ago, the San Jose Sharks dumped head coach Ron Wilson. For Wilson, it was a long time coming as his team underachieved during the last three seasons. In those three campaigns, the Sharks failed to get past the second round despite stellar regular-season records.
Ron Wilson needs to figure out that he gets paid to coach a so-called Stanley Cup contender while television reporters earn a living by asking the tough questions.
So, seeing how the San Jose Sharks are down 2-0 to the Dallas Stars in a West semi-final and TV ratings are peaking over at TSN, let's attempt to connect the dots to figure out who, as we sit here, is better at their job.
I may be going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing Ron Wilson may want to take a few moments and start pricing out moving truck rental rates.
Sooner or later, and I'd put my money on the former, the Sharks' coach is going to be out of a job.
