Hey, you've got to hand it to the Carolina Hurricanes and Atlanta Thrashers.
At least they are trying to manufacture a hatred for one another.
Thanks to a heads-up from Paul over at Kukla's Korner, I noticed the Thrashers and ‘Canes swapped TV announcers during a game Friday night, taking opposing fans "behind enemy lines."

Carolina Hurricanes forward Craig Adams has been suspended two games after hitting Toronto's Alex Steen with his stick.
The incident occurred during Carolina's 3-2 win over the Maple Leafs on Tuesday night. Adams will be eligible to return when the Hurricanes visit the New York Rangers on Dec. 26.

If the sheer thought of the Stanley Cup being awarded to another colorless hockey outpost is keeping you awake at night, be prepared to lose a little more sleep. As much as I hate to be the bearer of bad news, the Carolina Hurricanes are back.
Now with no offense intended to those fine bumpkins down on Tobacco Road, seeing hockey's grail in Carolina is like, well, seeing Jeff Gordon claim the Nextel Cup in Saskatoon. Try as you might, it just doesn't fit.
